D∆WN's Fiery Club-Banger "Dance": Listen
D∆WN kicks off 'The Red Era' with a massive club anthem "Dance." Listen now.

Dawn Richard — or D∆WN as she is now known — graces the pages of Kode magazine’s #GenerationNoir issue alongside Zendaya, Kat Graham, Serayah, Kiersey Clemons, Yara Shahidi and Aja Naomi King. The former Danity Kane member stuns in the sexy black-and-white shoot, rocking long, blond braids in one pic and a revealing cut-out dress in another. She also opens up about her third LP. “The Red Era is about freedom. About self realization. I want the hearts to dance in their beauty, dance through their pain and dance in their redemption.”

The 32-year-old also addresses her ever-changing sound. “I don’t feel boxed, I feel liberated,” D∆WN reveals. “Our culture is lacking in support. We are so quick to hate on our own people. What I hope to accomplish goes far beyond acceptance in my own culture. I’ve come to realize closed minds won’t get this movement. So the hope is that they see music has no race. Humans have no box. Art has no limit.”

The Blackheart diva is releasing a new single called “Not Above That” on January 29. She is also supporting The Red Era with a North American tour, which kicks off in New York on March 12. You can buy tickets here. See all the dates below.
