Watch Carly Rae Jepsen Peform “Run Away With Me” & “Your Type” On ‘Late Night’
Carly Rae Jepsen will costar in Fox’s live Grease special on Sunday (January 31) as Frenchy, and ahead of that gig she’s doing some promo. Monday night she stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers to perform a pair of songs from her criminally underselling 2015 pop gem E•MO•TION.
Jepsen started with album opener “Run Away With Me” and its transcendent sax wail, which was one of the most satisfying sounds in all of pop last year despite the overabundance of horned-up fare idc idc idc. Then she segued into the mall-pop belter “Your Type.” We’re sure an inexcusably low number of people even care about this, but if this post gets just one person to change their mind and care about CRJ, one more person to check out her album, then the pop world is a slightly better place. This is not hyperbole.
