'SNL' paid tribute to the music legend during its January 16, 2016 episode.

David Bowie‘s musical impact still remains strong, as longtime producer and friend Tony Visconti is revealed to be one of the first keynote speakers at South By Southwest.

The announcement is a notable one, as Visconti has been working with the late icon since 1969’s David Bowie (aka 1972’s Space Oddity). He also lent his talent to Low, HeroesLodger, 2013’s The Next Day and — most recently — Bowie’s final album, Blackstar. The producer worked with T. Rex, Thin Lizzy U2, Kaiser Chiefs and Morrissey as well.

Visconti’s opening keynote will take place on March 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Austin Convention Center. The festival will run from March 15-20. We will keep you updated on the music segment’s lineup of SXSW once it is released!
