Kanye West has announced that he changed the title of his forthcoming seventh album from SWISH to WAVES.  He posted a tweet announcing the name change Tuesday night (January 26).

“Waves” is also the title of one of the songs on the SWISH tracklist West posted earlier this week. Based on another of his tweets, back when it was still called SWISH, the release date is set for February 11. On that same day, West will unveil Yeezy Season 3 and debut the new album at Madison Square Garden.

This is second name change for the LP, as West first announced it as So Help Me God last year before switching it to SWISH. Though he can’t seem to settle on a title, he’s not wavering in his pre-release praise of the album. Sunday he called it “the best album of all time,” and today he doubled down, saying it’s not the album of the year, but the “album of the life.”

The whole leadup to this album has been nearly indecipherable from the outside looking in, but one thing is clear: Kanye West doesn’t care about blog people, who have spent all this time carving out all that sweet, sweet SEO real estate using SWISH and now have to start back at zero.
