Chvrches’ Lauren Mayberry Does Her Best Cher Impression: Watch
Cher has one of the most distinctive voices in pop music, so when fellow artists imitate her sound it is always in good spirits (see: Christina Aguilera). The latest to try their hand at Cher’s voice is CHVRCHES‘ own Lauren Mayberry, who stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden last month.
The Scottish pop act performed “Clearest Blue” on the late night show, but now a backstage clip has surfaced of Mayberry doing an adorable impression of Cher’s 1998 “Believe” single. She doesn’t quite sound like the iconic artist, but the end result will at least provide a chuckle!
When they’re not busy with impersonations, Chvrches are gearing up to hit the road. They’ve recently expanded their North American leg of their tour, which includes a handful of festival runs. See Mayberry’s take on Cher below.
