Kanye West Just Ethered Wiz Khalifa On Twitter

Kanye West stopped his streak of tweets praising forthcoming album WAVES to fire some poisonous darts at Wiz Khalifa after Wiz stirred up controversy last night (January 26) by calling out West and his new album title. A little scene-setting: Wiz used to be married to and had a child with Kanye’s former flame, Amber Rose, so there’s probably some deep, underlying bitterness or at least awkwardness between the two. Tuesday, Wiz broke it open by calling out Kanye for his new album title, WAVES, arguing that it swagger-jacked Max B, the rapper who made the wave/wavy trend prominent in hip-hop. West certainly got wind of the Max B chatter, and so he later tweeted “All respect to Andre Harrel and Max B #Waves.”

Wiz responded to that tweet last night with a sarcastic “Yea aight.” And today West decided he’d had enough and began dismantling the Pittsburgh rapper, probably to the applause of a huge portion of Rap Twitter. First he accused Wiz of stealing his “whole shit from Cudi” and called his first single “corny as fuck.” Then things got ugly as West took potshots at Wiz’s family situation and essentially claimed Wiz’s, and his kid’s, whole existence is indebted to West.

Khalifa responded by saying the fact that Kanye thought KK was a Kim Kardashian reference, and not the name of Wiz’s preferred weed strain, is why Kanye is “not wavy,” and declared he’s over the idea of West’s new album even existing. West continued to go in on the dude for another 20 or so tweets, finishing with “Thank you for the extra promotion” before cooling off, deleting most of the negative tweets (which live on in embed ghosts below) and professing his love for Wiz “and all people.”
