Florrie To Release Major Label Single “Real Love” In March

Way back in spring 2010, we profiled drummer-turned-pop-singer Florrie in our recurring Popping Up new artist series, and since then she’s gone on to release a bucket-load of EPs and record a string of live acoustic covers of other artists’ hits. But this is 2016, and things appear to be moving along in the right direction for something big to happen with the 27-year-old Brit.

The great news is that Florrie’s video for new single “Real Love,” directed by Emil Nava, is set to premiere on February 5. The single has a March 25 release date through Xenomania Records/Epic. “Real Love” was composed by Florrie and co-written/co-produced with Joacim Persson (Kelly Clarkson, Robyn, Zendaya) in Los Angeles, per a press release.

We’ve given the song a listen and can say it’s a nice little mid-tempo synth-pop number — nothing unexpected there — with a throbbing electronic pulse and a big chorus tailor-made for radio.

Florrie herself posted the barest of snippets of the song on Facebook, which you can check out below.
