Sia's 'This Is Acting': Album Review
We break down the singer's "reject"-filled album.

Sia is continuing her promotional run for This Is Acting with various TV gigs. After goofing around with Jimmy Fallon and Natalie Portman last week, the Aussie singer/songwriter stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show today (February 2).

The artist showed off her hilarious personality (she should display it more!) with Ellen, as they discussed her latest album. Jokingly calling the project “REJECTS!” Sia explained the merry-go-round story behind “Bird Set Free.”

“Well here’s the thing, that one I wrote and I loved it. I wrote it for Pitch Perfect 2 the movie, but they ended up taking a song called ‘Flashlight.’ So then I pitched it to Rihanna, then Rihanna took that one. Then Adele heard it and Adele cut it. And then Adele gave it back to me, and I was grateful because I had seller’s remorse.” Phew!

The singer then went on to compare the album to almost-rotting food and was gifted a long wig from Ellen. Prior to the interview, she (along with a male dancer) performed “Bird Set Free” for the audience.

Sia’s This Is Acting LP, which also includes “Cheap Thrills,” “Reaper,” “Alive,” “Broken Glass,” “Unstoppable” and “One Million Bullets,” was released on January 29.  Watch her Ellen performance up top, and catch the fun interview below.
