Kanye West Backtracks On His Claim That ‘Waves’ Is The Best Album Of All Time

In a bit of a surprise about-face (more surprising than his Wiz Khalifa 180, at least), Kanye West has backtracked on his claims that Waves will be the “best album of all time.” (Hate to say I told you so!)  In a series of tweets last night (February 2), West clarified that his upcoming seventh LP is not the greatest album ever, but merely “ONE of the greatest albums.”

He did this less due to self-doubt and more in deference to his idols, explaining it’s “Out of respect for Q-Tip, Puff, Hov, Lauren, Pharcyde, Mary, Stevie, Michael, Hendrix, James, Pete Rock, Pac, Marvin…”
