Janelle Monáe Grooves To Madonna’s “Express Yourself” In Pepsi’s Super Bowl Commercial: Watch
Super Bowl 50 is right around the corner, and the latest celebrity to get us in the football spirit is Janelle Monáe! The soul singer joins Drake, Lil Wayne and more as she stars in her own Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi.
Titled “Joy Of Dance,” the fun Samuel Bayer-directed clip finds Janelle transporting through the ’60s and ’80s decades as she dances and grooves to two classic hits: The Contours’ “Do You Love Me” and Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” The colorful promo ends with the singer’s own modern version of the soda company’s theme song.
You can catch the singer’s opening at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, where the Carolina Panthers will play the Denver Broncos this Sunday (February 7). Coldplay (along with Beyonce and Bruno Mars) will perform at the halftime show. Lady Gaga will kick the event off by singing The National Anthem. Watch Janelle Monáe’s Pepsi commercial below.
