Coldplay’s ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ Finally Tops UK Chart, Gives The Band Solid Run Of #1s
Over two months after its release, Coldplay‘s seventh studio album A Head Full Of Dreams makes its way to the top of the UK album chart, following the band’s high-profile performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 7). Here in the States, A Head Full Of Dreams is currently lodged #2 on iTunes and #16 on the Billboard 200.
Coldplay’s latest was initially held off the top spot in their home country by Adele‘s mighty 25, followed by a four-week stint at the top by David Bowie after the iconic musician’s death. Now all seven album by Coldplay have the distinction of having topped the British chart, a streak that began with their 2000 debut Parachutes.
Stateside, four of Coldplay’s seven albums have topped the Billboard 200: X&Y, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories. To-date, A Head Full Of Dreams has peaked at #2 on these shores.
