Macklemore And Ryan Lewis Drop New Song “Spoons”: Listen

On Valentine’s Day, after almost going too in-depth into white privilege, hip-hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis dropped a new song fit for the holiday.

Its title, “Spoons,” refers to cuddling positions, though Macklemore admits when his left arm goes numb. This isn’t some adrenaline rush like Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream,” but a cutesy ditty for couples that have been together for long enough, to where going to the bathroom with the door open isn’t that big of a deal. (What is a big deal, however, is skipping ahead through Game of Thrones: “I’ve seen your Netflix queue / you’re busted.”)

Macklemore must have written “Spoons,” featuring Ryan Bedard, when his now-wife Tricia Davis was still expecting their first child, as he compares her “big ol’ belly” to Gucci Mane‘s. (Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty was born on May 29, 2015.) Listen below.
