Bowie's Son Disapproved Of Gaga Tribute
It looks like David Bowie's son wasn't a fan of Lady Gaga's over-the-top Grammy tribute.

Lily Allen broke the news that Mark Ronson was working on Lady Gaga’s new album in November. “I was meant to be in the studio with Mark Ronson in the morning but he cancelled on me because Gaga’s there,” the Brit blabbed at the British Fashion Awards. The “Uptown Funk” producer now opens up about his involvement in an interview with Beats 1. “I come back to LA for a little bit and I’m gonna go in the studio and start working with Lady Gaga,” he told Zane Lowe.

“We just spent some time in the studio when she was in London,” Mark continued. “I know her from just before she got really massive, when she came and sang a song on a Wale record I worked on called ‘Chillin.’ I grew up in New York on the Upper West Side, she did too. She’s kind of like a muso at heart — she loves just sitting at a piano and barking orders at a drummer and she has an incredible voice. She’s one of the great voices in pop music, so we’re going to start with the songs and go from there.”

When asked if Mother Monster was heading in a retro direction (the producer’s speciality), he kept his cards close to his chest: “I’m not sure what the direction’s going to be like yet.” Gaga is working with an odd bunch of collaborators this time around. She has been in the studio with disco legend Nile Rodgers and famously reunited with The Fame producer RedOne. Listen to the Beats 1 interview here.
