Britney Spears’ Ninth LP Is “80 Percent Done” And Was Influenced By The Weeknd (Seriously)
Britney Spears’ ninth LP is coming together nicely according to long-time manager Larry Rudolph. He recently chatted with Kats Report Podcast for the Las Vegas Sun and revealed some very interesting tidbits about the project — namely that it’s “80 percent done” and sounds like Brit by way of The Weeknd. Is the “Pretty Girls” diva revisiting to her early ’00s R&B phase? Time will tell, but I’m secretly here for another “Boys.”
The 34-year-old isn’t taking any chances this era after being burned by the commercial failure of Britney Jean. Britney has worked with DJ Mustard, BURNS, Mischke Butler, Chantal Kreviazuk, Simon Wilcox and Ian Kirkpatrick, and has reportedly been avoiding Will.i.am at all costs. She has also spent a lot of time in the studio with Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, the songwriters behind Selena Gomez’s “Good For You” and Justin Bieber’s “Sorry.”
The duo recently talked about working with Britney on The Hit Makers podcast and shared a funny anecdote. “My favorite story was when we were asked to leave Britney’s session because we were so excited about how good she sounded we were disrupting everyone because we wouldn’t stop screaming with joy while she was trying to work,” Justin revealed. “I was literally on the floor crying,” Julia added. I’m not sure about The Weeknd reference, but everything sounds quite promising so far!
