It’s hard to fault the latest Girls soundtrack. Volume three, which arrived today (February 19), contains new music from Grimes, Bleachers, St. Vincent and BØRNS. It even boasts a gorgeous cover of David Bowie’s “Life On Mars” courtesy of rising Norwegian pop star AURORA. However, the highlight is Ellie Goulding’s bittersweet “Here’s To Us” — a return to form after a couple of iffy Delirium singles.

“You’ve fallen on your feet giving everything up, there’s something in the way love is never enough,” the Brit begins the break-up song over acoustic piano. She then throws a multitude of barbs at her unfaithful ex, before the synths kick in for the sweeping chorus: “Now you’re the one who hurts, you had to love someone else just to know you’re worth.” This reminds me of Ellie’s debut LP. It’s softer and more intimate than her recent output. Listen below.
