Ruth B Performs “Lost Boy” On ‘Today’: Watch Her Impressive TV Debut
Ruth B made the leap from social media sensation to rising pop star with viral hit “Lost Boy.” A six-second snippet of the Peter Pan-themed ballad caught fire on Vine in early 2015, prompting the 20-year-old to record a full version. She released it independently and immediately broke into the top 100 on iTunes — a feat that caught the attention of all the major labels. (The Alberta, Canada native eventually signed with Columbia Records).
The song was re-released late last year as the lead single from Ruth’s debut EP The Intro and soon found a home at HAC and pop radio. The newcomer made her television debut on Today this morning (February 19) — belting out “Lost Boy” at the piano. It was an accomplished performance that catapulted the song into the iTunes top 50. With all this momentum it won’t be long until it cracks the Billboard Hot 100. Watch up top.
