Rihanna Passes Michael Jackson With 14th Hot 100 No. 1 Thanks To “Work”

Rihanna just overthrew the King Of Pop with her 14th Hot 100 No. 1, so it’s probably accurate to call her the Queen (all respect to Queen B, of course). Her Drake-assisted single “Work” tops Billboard‘s singles chart this week, thus breaking her tie with Michael Jackson, who has 13 career Hot 100 No. 1s.

This is the second time Rihanna has partnered with Drake for a No. 1 hit, following 2010’s “What’s My Name?” (which was the rapper’s only other time in the top spot), and it’s her first chart-topper since 2013’s “The Monster” with Eminem. This moves Rihanna into third all-time for career No. 1s, behind only The Beatles, who have 20, and Mariah Carey‘s 18.

The timing couldn’t have been better for Rihanna after a spate of bad press due to a canceled Grammys performance and delayed tour dates. Throw in the steamy new “Work” music video, and it looks like the ANTI era has found its footing.
