Earlier this month, the song “Fair” by Welsh singer Betsy hit us like a freight train with its heavy, potent blend of simplicity and heartache. The accompanying music video adds to the track’s devastating nature by showing Betsy in what looks like vintage home movie footage, applying lipstick in a mirror before having an emotional breakdown. There’s also a cute parrot that occasionally shows up in the frame, on the singer’s shoulder — something that somehow perfectly adds to the fragile nature of what we’re watching here.
