Following Friday’s (February 19) court ruling where New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich denied issuing the preliminary injunction Kesha had been asking for to begin recording music outside of the company owned by her alleged physical and emotional abuser, Dr. Luke (aka Lukasz Gottwald), the singer went quiet on social media as a wave of support poured in from fans, her pop star peers and those outside the music industry. Tuesday evening, however, she finally broke her silence with an emotional Instagram post.

“I am beyond words in gratitude. thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you,” Kesha stated, while posting a close-up photo of her face. She went on to note that the support she’s received has left her “face swollen with tears,” and that “a statement too large for this format is coming.”

Kesha and Dr. Luke’s court battle is far from over. Per Vanity Fair, a phone-conference appearance for Gottwald’s countersuit against Kesha won’t happen until May 5 in New York, while Kesha’s next scheduled court date is May 16 in Los Angeles, when a judge is to be updated on how the New York case is proceeding.

In other words, this very well might be a long, career-impacting haul for both parties involved.
