She may not have won the Oscar for Best Original Song the other night — that honor went to Sam Smith — but Lady Gaga and left a memorable impression on viewers with her stirring performance of somber The Hunting Ground ballad “Til It Happens to You,” which incorporated over 50 survivors of sexual assault on stage. In fact, in addition to the the outpouring of love Gaga has received online for her showing at the Oscars, music buyers have propelled “Til It Happens To You” into the upper reaches of the iTunes Top Songs chart for the first time since it was made available for download last September.

To-date, “Til It Happens To You” has reached #2 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under chart — or in other words, it missed cracking the Hot 100 by two positions. The song is currently at #10 on iTunes, and if it hangs in there throughout the week, it could be enough to make in-roads to the Hot 100 by the time the new chart is published in seven days.

Though it’s not a single Gaga had been heavily promoting upon its release, she began performing “Til It Happens To You,” a collaboration with songwriter Diane Warren, during awards season following several nominations, including Best Song Written For Visual Media at the Grammys (it lost to John Legend and Common‘s “Glory” from the film Selma) and Best Original Song at the Oscars (which, as mentioned, went to Sam Smith’s “Writing’s On The Wall” from Spectre).
