Gwen Stefani is ramping up the promotion for comeback LP This Is What The Truth Feels Like by dropping a new buzz single called “Misery” on Friday (March 11). At least according to Universal Music Ireland, who posted the announcement on their Instagram account (see below). It’s not entirely out of the blue. The Justin Tranter/Julia Michaels-penned anthem is listed in most promo materials as one of the featured tracks and the project could do with a last minute boost before its March 18 release date.

Current single “Make Me Like You” is slowly gaining momentum on iTunes and pop radio, but it’s not the instant smash Gwen and Interscope were, no doubt (pun intended), hoping for. In fact, it’s following a similar chart pattern as “Used To Love You” — a steady if unremarkable trajectory boosted greatly but the occasional live performance. The music — post “Spark The Fire” — has been uniformly good. Perhaps fans just need another reminder that the 46-year-old is back and means business.

Only a few more sleeps until @gwenstefani's 'Misery' is out! #gwenstefani #misery #newmusic
