Keke Palmer Comes Back Swinging With Jeremih-Assisted Jam “Enemiez”

Keke Palmer has been chipping away at pop/R&B stardom since 2007 debut LP So Uncool. That project didn’t connect as well as expected (despite containing legendary teen-pop anthems “Footwurkin'” and “Bottoms Up”), but the former child star bounced back with a string of well-received mixtapes. The 22-year-old is now ready to take things to the next level with Jeremih-assisted party anthem “Enemiez,” the first taste of her long-overdue sophomore album.

Produced by Dane Jonas Jeberg (Kylie Minogue’s “All I See” and Fifth Harmony’s “Sledgehammer”), Keke’s comeback is a slinky urban-pop jam that falls somewhere between ’90s Janet Jackson and modern day Ciara. She coos sexily about unrequited love, declaring that she’s not interested in a friendship because: “I know you keep your friends close, I know you keep your enemies closer.” Make sure you watch the video (up top), which showcases the Scream Queens actress’s killer dance moves.
