A few days ago, a vocal-centric snippet of Ariana Grande‘s new single “Dangerous Woman” appeared in an ad for the Victoria’s Secret Swim Special. Last night (March 9), the totally necessary show aired on CBS and the Queen of Snippets showed up again, as a longer chunk of her song accompanied one of the scenes.
With about a minute of runtime, this preview provides a much clearer view of the single’s direction. Grande purrs “Somethin’ ’bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman” over a buzzing neo-waltz arrangement, its femme fatale vibe leagues away from the brassy bubblegum of her previous hits.
