Annabel Jones’ “IOU” Gets A Killer Club Remix From AObeats
The buzz around Annabel Jones started building in 2014 when she casually dropped one of the year’s best pop songs, the still-magnificent “Magnetic,” on SoundCloud. And then disappeared. The Brit finally returned in early february with major label debut single “IOU” — a spiky electro-pop anthem about the aftermath of cloying relationship. It represented something of a change of pace for the newcomer, but was readily embraced by the blogosphere.
A club overhaul was inevitable and Annabel turns to “Magnetic” remixer AObeats to work his magic on “IOU.” “Hearing the song I felt like I didn’t want to take away too much from the original song in terms of the vocal content, but wanted to take it in a more club-y direction,” the rising electronic producer tells Idolator. “There were definitely heavy moombahton influences as well as hip-hop/rap influences on it.” Check over his impressive overhaul below.
