Not even a month has gone by since Gwen Stefani premiered her live music video for “Make Me Like You,” and already she’s asking to be put out of her “Misery” on the latest buzz single off upcoming LP This Is What The Truth Feels Like. Don’t be fooled by the song’s title; it’s actually an upbeat little mid-tempo number that, despite the thin veil, appears to be another loved-up ode to Blake Shelton, Stefani’s current beau, post-split from Gavin Rossdale.

“You’re like drugs to me, I’m so into you totally,” Gwen admits in the leadup to the chorus on “Misery.” It’s hard to fathom, but we’re starting to realize that Blake Shelton might have been the best thing that’s happened to Stefani, with regards to getting her decade-in-the-waiting third solo album in the hands of pop fans.

“Misery” isn’t exactly going to reshape popular music, but it’s a pleasant surprise in that Stefani is now three for three with song releases. Keep ’em coming, Gwen.
