Strange and lovely synth-pop creature Ladyhawke has descended upon us once more to give the gift of a new song, the very Yaz(oo)-esque and rollicking “Sweet Fascination.” It’s the ARIA-winning New Zealand singer’s first release in four years, because Ladyhawke (real name: Pip Brown) does as she pleases and releases music whenever the hell she wants to.

Okay, actually, she states the following in a press release for upcoming album Wild Things (out June 3): “People wonder why there’s always a massive gap between my albums. The reason is both complicated and easy. The simple explanation: I’ve never released anything I’m not proud of. That’s important to me. I wanted this album to reflect the frame of mind I was in when creating it. I tried very hard to change my life for the better, and to create a positive and bright environment to exist in.”
