Kesha Fans Project “#FreeKesha” And “Drop Dr. Luke” Onto Sony HQ: See Photos
Fans supporting Kesha amid her thorny legal battle against Dr. Luke and Sony made a huge statement last night (March 11). Between 7 and 7:30 p.m., protesters projected their rallying cries onto Sony’s headquarters in downtown Manhattan. Those messages included “#FreeKesha,” “Sony: Protect Your Artists” and “Sony: Drop Dr. Luke.”

This was the third time that #FreeKesha supporters rallied in hopes that Sony would answer to Kesha’s plea to not work with Dr. Luke, whom she claims physically, sexually and emotionally abused her throughout the past decade. Earlier this week, their protests appeared to have paid off, when The Wrap reported that Sony planned to drop Dr. Luke “amid pressure.” However, the pop super-producer refuted those claims via a rep who said that he “has an excellent relationship with Sony.”
The projections came after fans delivered over 411,000 signatures from four petitions urging Sony to free Kesha of her contract with Dr. Luke. Previously, Sony made clear that the Warrior singer could work with anyone she chooses, and that Dr. Luke doesn’t have to be in the same room. But the label also said that it “cannot terminate the contractual relationship” between Kesha and Dr. Luke’s Sony subsidiary Kemosabe Records — meaning, regardless of whom she works with, the producer would still benefit financially from her career.
