Hear Two Great New Carly Rae Jepsen Songs From ‘E•MO•TION Remixed’
Carly Rae Jepsen doesn’t miss — which is why it’s so exciting she’s working with PC Music — and her streak continues with two previously unheard songs “First Time” and “Fever.” They’re off E•MO•TION Remixed, which is out today but apparently only in Japan at the moment?
“First Time” is a bright synth-funk workout reminiscent of Madonna‘s “Lucky Star.” CRJ delivers a monster chorus, singing “Through all the heartbreak we’ll make it feel like the first time / And if you stay here, we can kiss away the goodbye.” “Fever” is a more subdued offering, a shimmering late night heartbreak ballad that still fizzes with energy.
The 10-track remix project also features eight updates of “Run Away With Me,” “Your Type,” “I Really Like You” and “All That,” but let’s be honest you’re here for the new stuff. And the new stuff is great. This gal’s dropping throwaway extras that are better than most of the stuff in regular radio rotation and it is a damn shame that more people aren’t hearing it.
