Jack Ü Features Florence + The Machine In New Song: Hear Snippets
Diplo and Skrillex have a new collaborator: Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine.
Last night (March 19), the producer-DJs behind Jack Ü previewed a new song featuring vocals by Florence. “Constellation around your heart,” she repeats — a lyric that could easily be lifted off her 2015 album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. But while the arty, ethereal Florence often seems like a woman out of her time (“the Stevie Nicks of the Twilight generation,” Rolling Stone wrote in 2011), Jack Ü’s drum machine beats are fit for Ultra Music Festival.
That isn’t to say that their collaboration was completely unexpected. Back in December, Florence + the Machine performed a rock version of Jack Ü’s Justin Bieber-featuring “Where Are Ü Now.”
