The lines between pop and country are becoming more blurred than ever. With country artists crossing over to pop (Taylor Swift) and vice versa (Cyndi Lauper), the boundaries and musical tropes of each respective genre are starting to overlap, as with any other genre in the digital age. So in a bit of news that attests to the musical cross-pollination of our moment, country legend Dolly Parton and pop superstar Katy Perry are joining forces in a special duet at this year’s ACM Awards. (Not unlike Justin Timberlake‘s live collab with Chris Stapleton at the CMAs.)

While it’s currently unknown what song they’ll be performing, it is sure to be a memorable night for Parton, who is set to receive the Tex Ritter Award for her television movie Coat Of Many Colors. As for Perry, this won’t be the first time that a pop star graces the ACM stage. In 2011Katy’s pal Rihanna joined Sugarland frontwoman Jennifer Nettles for a duet of the former’s single “California King Bed.”

Among the plethora of artists set to appear at this year’s April 3 ceremony include Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line and country newcomer Sam Hunt.
