Everything’s popping up Zayn these days — and rightly so, given that the onetime One Direction member’s debut solo LP Mind Of Mine arrives this Friday (March 25). Following his Complex cover story, where Mr. Malik talked about sex, hip hop and more sex, he’s now opening up to UK music pub NME about having minimal contact with his former bandmates, save for Liam Payne.

“We talk on the phone,” the chart-topping “Pillowtalk” crooner says of Liam. “He congratulated me on my single, which was nice. I congratulated him on his Brit Award [the group collected the British Video Award for ‘Drag Me Down’]. It was a good chat. We haven’t met up in a long time so we want to meet up.”

Alas, when it comes to Harry, Niall and Louis, Malik says, “I tried to have contact but nobody’s reached out. So… whatever.”

Ah, pop…sometimes it’s a cruel bitch. Catch more from Zayn’s cover story with NME here.
