SXSW 2016 — Day Two Recap
Tinashe performed a private show & we had a late night fiasco!

Despite SXSW being a hub for discovering artists (well, it’s supposed to be that way), a slew of big-name bands and singers always make it out to Austin to dominate various stages. Case in point: John Legend and AlunaGeorge at AXE Collective + Crew’s SXSW showcase on Thursday (March 17).

The soulful crooner wooed the crowd with his classic romantic ballads on the piano, including “All Of Me” and a cover of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song.” He also made an announcement that his fifth studio album—the first in three years—will arrive in September!

AlunaGeorge were also a big highlight of the day, with Aluna Francis taking the stage without bandmate George Reid. The singer held her own with confidence, though, as she performed electronic grooves like “Attracting Flies,” “Automatic” and the duo’s current hit, “I’m In Control.”
