Pet Shop Boys Premiere Quirky ‘Super’ Album Opener “Happiness”: Listen

Today (March 24), as we look back on the 30th anniversary of the release of Pet Shop Boys‘ boundary-pushing debut LP Please, we’re also awaiting the UK pop duo’s forthcoming 13th studio LP Super. There’s now a new cut to hear — the album’s lyrically sparse opener, “Happiness” — to add to already-released single “The Pop Kids” and buzz track “Inner Sanctum.”

If the idea of Neil Tennant adopt a faux country and western vocal delivery atop a pulsing dance groove is your own idea of “super,” then you’re going to be thrilled with this one.
