Selena Gomez's 'Revival': Album Review
Selena Gomez's 'Revival' LP is a career-defining gem. Read our detailed review.

Selena Gomez’s unexpectedly revealed the next single from Revival in an interview with 97.5 NOW FM this afternoon (March 28). “I’ve been in the studio at the moment already working on new stuff,” the 23-year-old said. “I can’t wait to celebrate Revival but it’s been fun to feel like I’m already moving towards other things, but ‘Kill Em With Kindness’ is lyrically my favorite song I put on the record and I definitely can’t wait to be able for that to have a story.”

As for that “new stuff,” we know Selena has been in the studio with “Same Old Love” songwriter Ross Golan. However, he’s not the only Revival collaborator she’s working with. “I called Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels who are two writers that did half the album with me and I just said, ‘let’s go back in the studio. I just feel like I need to get stuff out and I have ideas,'” the “Hands To Myself” hitmaker revealed. Why mess with a winning formula?

“Kill Em With Kindness” strikes me as a fairly wise choice. The Benny Blanco/Rock Mafia-produced earworm conveys an extremely positive message (you don’t always need to return fire) and boasts the catchiest whistle hook since Adam Lambert’s “Ghost Town.” I know she’s eager to move on to album number six, but I’d love her to close out this era with a ballad like “Camouflage” or “Nobody.” Listen to the full interview below.
