Zayn’s ‘Mind Of Mine’ Heading For #1 Debut On Both Sides Of The Pond

Zayn Malik is no stranger to sending an album to the top of the charts, as the four One Direction LPs released during his tenure with the boy band all reached #1 on the Billboard 200. But now it’s looking like the “Pillowtalk” crooner is about to achieve the same chart feat for the first time all on his own.

Stateside, Billboard cites industry forecasters who are projecting Zayn’s debut solo outing Mind Of Mine could sell upwards of 120,000 copies (and move a total of 160,000 album units, once streaming is factored in) — enough to clinch a #1 entry on the main album chart. The latest Billboard 200 roundup will be published next week on Tuesday.

Likewise, the Official Charts Company in Zayn’s homeland of the UK is also calling for a #1 debut tomorrow, and notes that Mind Of Mine‘s closest competitor, Adele‘s 25, is trailing by about 5,000 copies. Actual UK sales figures for Zayn’s album have not been published yet.

Maybe all this success out of the gate on Zayn’s part is what’s got Naughty Boy feeling so salty?
