Four long years have passed since the release of Emeli Sande’s star-making debut LP Our Version Of Events. And while there’s still no arrival date for the follow-up, we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer. “Day 4000 in the studio,” the Brit joked on Twitter this morning (April 5). “End in sight.” As for her collaborators, the 29-year-old has previously revealed that TMS (“Read All About It, Pt. III”) and Naughty Boy (“Clown” and “Daddy”) would be returning for album two.

Why the delay? Well, that’s what happens when your debut album produces six hits and sells more than two millions copies in the UK. It was so successful that Emeli ranked at the country’s highest-selling artist for two consecutive years. (Take that, Adele!) She then had a stab at cracking America and came pretty close with “Next To Me,” which peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Needless to say, expectations for her sophomore set are high.
