AURORA’s “Conqueror” Gets A Dreamy Kartell Remix
AURORA lived up to the hype on (amazingly-titled) debut LP All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend. The 19-year-old’s subtle blend of electronica and folk-pop creates a vast soundscape for tales of triumph and loss. Current single “Conqueror” definitely falls into the former category. “It’s about longing for a conqueror in someone else and having someone else save you while the world is falling apart around you,” the Norwegian star told Idolator in March.
“But the clue is that you have to find the conqueror in yourself and be your own hero.” Perhaps the most upbeat song on AURORA’s album, “Conqueror” was always going to be ripe for a remix. French house producer Kartell was given the task and he transforms it into a delicate electro-lullaby. This is a great example of a DJ staying true to the artist’s aesthetic, while still putting his own spin on the track. Listen below.
