As Ryan Seacrest noted last night (April 7) during the American Idol series finale, Jennifer Lopez wasn’t about to go out quietly. The show judge joined the multitude of the evening’s other performers in hitting the stage, where she belted out new single “Ain’t Your Mama” and “Let’s Get Loud,” a fan favorite off JLo’s 1999 debut LP On The 6.

The 46-year-old diva, who was flanked by a pack of backup dancers for her Idol performance, has faced online criticism since yesterday’s release of “Ain’t Your Mama” over the fact that the song is produced by Dr. Luke. While artists such as Lady Gaga, Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea and Jack Antanoff have lined up to show their support for singer Kesha in the wake of her legal battle with Luke (whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald), Lopez is the first high-profile pop artist to release material produced by him since the case went to court in February.

The online consensus appears to point to the producer’s name now being an extremely polarizing one, and JLo has stepped right into the ickiness of it all.

Still, none of this is hurting sales of “Ain’t Your Mama” so far. The song, at least for now, has climbed to #10 on the iTunes chart within 24 hours of being made available.
