Gorillaz Are In The Studio Working On Their New Album

It’s been five long years since Gorillaz, a virtual (but real) band created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, released new music. Last summer, Albarn announced in an interview with Australia’s ABC News that the animated act would commence work on a new full-length. With album delays and pushbacks and false announcements extremely common in the music industry at the moment, it’s easy to take this sort of announcement with a grain of salt. However, it looks like a reality in this case, as earlier today Hewlett shared several videos on his Instagram page of the Gorillaz crew in-studio working on the upcoming LP.

The first clip depicts Albarn in the studio with French composer Jean Michel-Jarre, songwriter Liam Bailey and producer Twilite Tone. The second video shows Bailey and Tone engaging in some studio hijinks.
