Annabel Jones Is A Different Kind Of Cat Lady In Demented “IOU” Video
Annabel Jones first made waves back in 2014 with the still-magnificent “Magnetic.” It took her two years to release a follow-up, but “IOU” turned out to be well worth the wait. Produced by Jimmy Tamborello and Andrew Goldstein, the first taste of the Brit’s debut EP, Libelle (due May 6), is a fiery electro-pop anthem about the demise of cloying relationship. It’s biting and delightfully dismissive, and has absolutely nothing to do with felines. Which makes the video something of a surprise.
The 27-year-old is a very different kind of cat lady in the quirky visual. Instead of scoffing chocolate on the couch while watching Bridget Jones’s Diary for the 100th time (not that there’s anything wrong with that), Annabel parades around in sexy outfits, hangs out with some semi-naked male friends and bathes in milk. That’s all intercut with cat close-ups, making “IOU” a strong candidate for viral success. Watch up top.
