Demi Lovato Takes On Disco Classic “I Will Survive”: Listen To A Preview
It’s official. Demi Lovato tackles Gloria Gaynor’s disco classic, “I Will Survive,” in The Angry Birds Movie. She teased a snippet of her cover on Instagram this morning (April 14) and it remains surprisingly faithful to the original. There’s no modern-day makeover. Instead, the Confident diva takes it back to the glittery and glamorous ’70s, belting out the break-up anthem like the best karaoke participant of all time.
While Demi’s disco cover is sure to be a stand-out, there are plenty of other reasons to check out the soundtrack (due May 6). Blake Shelton contributes a cute country/pop anthem called “Friends,” while Charli XCX turns in a new track called “Explode.” Other featured artists include Norwegian DJ Matoma, Steve Aoki and Rick Astley. (To be honest, “Never Gonna Give You Up” should be on every soundtrack). Listen to snippet of “I Will Survive” below.
