Panic! At The Disco’s “Victorious” Gets A RAC Remix: Idolator Premiere

“Victorious” is the highlight of Panic! At The Disco’s chart-topping LP Death Of A Bachelor. A punchy stadium-rock anthem with a serotonin-raising chorus, the track rivals “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” in crossover appeal. It’s not, however, an obvious candidate for an electronic overhaul, which is probably why the band/Brendon Urie called on RAC. You see, the Portuguese-born producer has a knack for remixing rock songs. (Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” and Death Cab For Cutie’s “Some Boys,” for example).

He strips away the guitars and replaces them with spacey synths, but leaves the song structurally intact. The result is a radio-ready summer anthem with a distinct pop sensibility. “I’m a fan of RAC’s remixes and was excited when he agreed to work his magic on ‘Victorious,’” Brendon says. “He injected an entirely new energy into the song.” It’s sure to be a stand-out on Panic! At The Disco’s upcoming tour with Weezer, which kicks off on June 10 in Woodlands, Texas. (See all dates and buy tickets here). We’re excited to premiere the remix below.
