Not Surprisingly, Jay Z Wasn’t Surprised By The Content Of ‘Lemonade’

On Lemonade, Beyoncé shared some stark allusions to her marriage and Jay Z‘s alleged infidelity, to the point that in the immediate aftermath of its premiere, people were wondering whether Jay even had advance notice of the project’s lyrical bombs. But not only did he get an advance listen, he reportedly signed off on every song.

E! News cites “an insider” who told them “Jay was involved in the creation of Lemonade and knew every song Bey was going to release. He knew the lyrics; he knew the implications. He had to approve the songs before release. Jay is a very smart businessman…Bottom line is that they are both really smart and they both saw dollar signs.”

Considering that it’s an anonymous source, approach with caution. That said, considering that they’re husband and wife and the damn thing was released on Jay’s streaming platform, in all likelihood he had forewarning of the coming Lemonade storm.
