Justin Bieber Is Done Taking Fan Photos

Remember Justin Bieber‘s hilariously awkward fan meet-and-greet photos from earlier in his Purpose tour? Well it turns out he wasn’t just being a grump, but he may have actually been wrestling with some pretty heavy existential issues about his life and the price of having millions of adoring fans, most armed with cameras. So last night (May 10), the face-tatted star took to Instagram to swear off taking photos with fans for the foreseeable future.

“If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I’m not gonna take a picture I’m done taking pictures,” he wrote. “I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity.” This is a very reasonable decision!

Of course the post was met with its share of detractors in the comments. So just how serious is Bieber about this? He’s already posted a thought-out response to a fan making the “that’s the price of fame, you signed up for this” argument in his IG.

Braekess you are so right btw your Instagram name is fire. Years ago it was impossible to even take a picture at anytime not everyone was accessible to a camera now everyone has a camera phone and Now it's just a different thing. If you think setting boundaries is being a douche I'm the biggest douche around but I think it's smart and will be the only way I last. I wanna enjoy life and not be a slave to the world and their demands of what they think I need to do!! I love the fact that I am able to make people happy but cmon if you truly were in my position you would understand how tiring it is ( boo hoo Justin get over it) I'm going to keep making decisions I feel are fit for my growth and no human being will make me feel bad for it.

Think it’ll last, or will the Belieber horde eventually break his will/disregard his request entirely?
