Another 'Lemonade' Take
Beyonce's LP is redemptive to those who've suffered through infidelity of a long-term partner.

Beyonce isn’t just inspiring think pieces with Lemonade. TIDAL has gained 1.2 million users since its release, according to data obtained by The New York Times. (That figure includes trial users as well as subscribers.)

Soon after its TV premiere on HBO, Lemonade was released on TIDAL exclusively for 24 hours before it dropped on iTunes. Plus, to this day, TIDAL is still the only streaming service that carries the album.

Compared to Spotify’s 30 million users and Apple Music’s 13 million, TIDAL’s subscription base of 3 million is paltry. But to have an artist who can actually compete with Drake in album sales and streams is still a major feat.

Views, an Apple Music exclusive, scored over 245 million streams within its first week, according to Republic Records. But Forbes found that this initial figure includes streams from “Hotline Bling” — a song released last summer.
