Yuna's 'Chapters': Album Review
She dips her toe into the pool of contemporary R&B — and the water is pretty spectacular.

Naughty Boy has another huge collaboration in store. Just as Beyonce performs “Runnin’ (Lose It All),” which he produced, during her Formation World Tour, he tells entertainment reporter Kevin Hughes that his next single features Ellie Goulding. “Once you do a song with Beyonce, it’s almost like well, should I retire, should I get out?” he says. “Oh, I should finish my album. But Ellie Goulding, I think she’s perfect for what’s next.”

According to Naughty Boy, Ellie was in between tour dates herself when they recorded what became their debut collaboration, titled “Should’ve Been Me.” Just as how “Runnin’ (Lose It All)” was a new look for Beyoncé, being this epic drum-and-bass anthem, Naughty Boy promises that his latest will be Ellie as people have never heard her before.

“I want to make something summery,” he says. I want to make something feel-good. And she’s such a lovely person. And when you hear this song as well, it’s got a bit of a dance vibe to it. I think people will be surprised. … I don’t think you’re ever going to hear her on a song like this again. ‘Cause it’s got the same haunting vocal, but it’s still got all the rhythm, and all — there’s something really contemporary about it. It is quite a bit reggae-ish.”
