Puff Daddy‘s Bad Boy Family Reunion tour was already one for the books before its sold-out launch last night (May 20) at New York’s Barclays Center. Lil Kim, Faith Evans, Ma$e, 112 and French Montana were already billed. Mary J. Blige performed as a special guest. And one of Puff’s most infamous signees, Notorious B.I.G., would have turned 44 today.

But then to make things even more exciting, the hip-hop mogul brought out a good pal of his — Jay Z. This was his first performance since Beyonce dropped her latest visual album LemonadeAnd of all tracks, he performed “Public Service Announcement (Interlude),” off 2003’s The Black Album. “I got the hottest chick in the game, wearing my chain,” he raps.

“Whenever I get in trouble, this is the one I call,” Puff said of Hov. “This my strategist right here. This my brother. This is B.I.G.’s brother.”

The Bad Boy Family Reunion tour celebrates the label’s 20-year legacy. (Bad Boy has a combined 38 platinum and multi-platinum hits.) After this weekend’s launch at Barclays, the tour picks back up August 25 in Columbus, Ohio.
