Celine Dion Covers "Show Must Go On"
Celine Dion delivers a soaring cover of Queen's "Show Must Go On." Listen.

After taking a break to mourn the death of husband Rene Angelil, Celine Dion is back in the studio. The pop icon returned last week with a soaring cover of Queen’s “Show Must Go On” and unveiled a new French-language single today (May 24). Written and produced by Jean-Jacques Goldman, “Encore Un Soir” (“One More Night,” in English) is a touching tribute to her late spouse. As usual, the 48-year-old puts on a vocal master class — hitting notes her contemporaries can only dream of.

Celine started work on the follow-up to 2012 French language LP Sans Attendre last year. She tweeted a studio picture with Algerian-born singer Zaho in October and promised that new music was on the way. It looks like the album has been now completed with an August release date looking likely. Hopefully, the legendary diva is also putting the finishing touches on an English-language opus. Sunday’s performance at the Billboard Music Awards was proof enough that pop needs her. Desperately.
