Time To Dust Off Those ‘Cruel Winter’ Rumors
Some new Kanye West material emerged last night (May 31) in a series of Snapchat videos from a studio session with Big Sean.
A recording of West rapping on a new song can be heard briefly in two separate clips (it sounds like Travi$ Scott is in one of them as well). In one, West raps “Yeezy might have to go and put his Louis on,” and in the other, he is seen recording vocals then another snippet of apparently the same song cuts in, with West rapping “Pray for me, I’m about to hit the Ye button / I don’t wanna say nothing wrong.”
The first conclusion is that these bars are from West’s TLOP follow-up, which we’re still pretending is called Turbo Grafx 16. But it looks like we may have to dust off those Cruel Winter rumors. The sequel to the first G.O.O.D. Music compilation has been rumored for nearly four years now, but everything’s been quiet on that front for months. But last night Fonzworth Bentley posted a photo from the same session with the caption “Cruel Winter.” So maybe Kanye has resurrected the project, or maybe they’re all trying to keep us off their scent because, again, nothing this camp ever says about any project involving Ye can ever be trusted.
