Avicii To Retire From Touring
Fans of Avicii will soon no longer be able to see him on the road. Find out more.

After conquering clubs (and charts) around the globe with debut LP True, Avicii fell victim to the sophomore curse. His second effort, Stories, failed to produce global hits like “Wake Me Up” and “Hey Brother,” and reviews were less than kind. (I liked it). The Swede’s health also suffered from excessive touring and he took a step back from the music business in 2015. Happily, new single “Back Where I Belong” is a nostalgic return to form.

A collaboration with childhood friend Otto Knows (and the mastermind behind Britney Spears’ “Work Bitch”), Avicii’s latest is an unusually contemplative and emotional club banger. “I’ve been everywhere and nothing is new and I’ve done everything I’ve set out to do,” uncredited vocalist LP sings over shimmery synths. “I’m nothing without you, without you I’m nothing at all.” Throw in some horns and a smattering of ’80s references, and you have an unexpectedly great dance anthem.
